Paramount Saddlery has been successfully offering equestrians of all levels and disciplines custom-made saddles and saddle-fitting solutions for twenty years.
The saddlery was originally founded by Christian Lowe as a modest workshop to focus on saddles that were crafted to each individual horse and rider. Today, the brand is being reimagined by two new partners who are bringing new light and a fervor for perfection to Christian’s vision.
“Our goal is to take Paramount to nationally acclaimed heights while maintaining our tradition of personable and honest service,” says Christian. “We have always been approachable and we will stay approachable.”
The redesigned Paramount saddles can be appreciated by all levels of riders across all disciplines for their quality craftsmanship and unique combination of fit and style.
Whether you’re an Olympic level professional or a recreational equestrian enthusiast, you’ll find our Canadian-made products to be anything but ordinary. Our custom-made saddles are designed to fit both the horse and rider for performance as well as providing a unique aesthetic quality. Your individual saddle will be adapted to the morphology of your seat and your horse.
THE NEW TEAM
Master saddler John Banbury, and founder-saddle maker Christian Lowe, are both experienced riders and trained in the saddlery trade. John was a working student at Kilbyrne Stables, competed at Young Riders in Dressage and several A-rated hunter/jumper shows.
Christian came from a family with a passion for horses. As a teenager, he spent every weekend and summer at a top eventing facility bartering his labour for riding lessons. The time spent at this competitive stable was valuable; Christian learned a lot about horses and related issues. He worked closely with team vets, travelling to international shows and helping with the day-to-day management of elite eventers and their equine partners. It was the perfect foundation for his career as a saddler maker and saddle fitter, and the basis for his philosophy: “saddles could and should fit better.”
Managing Director, Irina Pljusznyin, is an amateur rider competing in the jumper ring aboard her much-loved mare, Katerina. She worked in sports marketing for years from the US to Asia, and today she brings her design and marketing experience to Paramount.
The collective expertise and experience of our team is what enables us to go above and beyond the usual expectations to bring the best care and products to all our riders and their horses.
In addition to that, we are strategically located to make it easy for you to find us and to provide fast service and delivery on all repairs and saddle fittings in Ontario and all over Canada.
